Vegetable garden for Huertos in the Sky, in Barceloneta

We began collaborating with Adela, promoter of Huertos in the Sky, in August 2018. At which time a roof was sought to conduct a pilot experiment for the Huertos in the Sky concept, which is to occupy roofs with vegetable gardens for the sale of horticultural products, with a component of social inclusion.

With the collaboration of Sergio Carratala, a structural analysis was carried out to determine where the load could be placed. Once the analysis was done, proposals were presented to the owners until the appropriate configuration and cost were found.

In March 2019, several wooden frames were hauled on the roof with a crane, and later technical layers and a minimum of 30 cm of agricultural substrate were added to them. Afterwards, the irrigation system and the first crops were installed.
