Up Top Acres: Food and Events on the City Rooftop

Elevate Your Eating

Up Top Acres is reimagining what a farm looks like. We grow food on roofs – converting neglected spaces into productive farmland and environmental safeguards.  We create spaces for communities to interact with and learn about food, in order to establish agriculture as a fixture of city life.

The entity operates a network of rooftop farms across the DC metro area, including a 15,000 square foot farm located a block away from Nationals Stadium that produces everything from baby greens to melons and features two beehives. The farm’s event space overlooks the DC skyline, and is available from April-October for private events including company outings, brunches, dinners, cocktail receptions and more.

Another of their large operations includes a 25,000 square foot farm in the Navy Yard is located just two blocks away from the Farm at 55 M Street. With views of the Capitol, Washington Monument, and Nationals Park, the Farm at 55 M Street is home to one of the most unique event venues in DC.

Up Top Acres’ produce can be found in restaurants and retailers across DC and Maryland.

They also offer a weekly delivery of microgreens to people’s homes, and will have a presence at farmers markets starting in the Spring of 2017.
